It all started in elementary school.

Tori and Eve have been partners in crime since they were wee babes in knee socks. Today, they own and operate Stone Cellar Dye Works, a dye lab and fiber studio serving up colorful yarn and bad puns.

Our Story

Stone Cellar Dye Works was born in—you guessed it—a stone cellar.

The conditions were rustic, to put it politely, but after a lifetime spent in Chester County, Pennsylvania, old buildings have always felt like home. (Seriously, our school gym class used to meet inside an unheated barn in poor weather. Was it the 1990s or the 1890s?)

Our first summer dyeing was blisteringly hot. We spent our weekends and evenings underground in the cramped quarters of Tori’s basement with a bunch of boiling dye pots. We argued over math (fractions, man) and listened to a hilarious amount of Oingo Boingo.

In 2025, when our operation expanded and we made the transition from hobbyists to full-time yarn dyers, we knew we needed to move our dye lab to a bigger studio space. So we moved to Eve’s basement. Always living that basement life.

Since we were little kids, we’ve fantasized about running a business together. It took some time to find the right niche and a decade-long side quest into the world of professional theatre, but every adventure life’s taken us on in the past 30 years has led us to Stone Cellar Dye Works.

As for what's next . . . we’re just getting started. We’re so glad you’re here to see how the story unfolds.
